Mundane Astrology: The Israel - Hamas War

Mundane astrology is a sister practice to financial astrology where we forecast and analyze global and political events from an astrological lens. Financial astrologers often study both since major world events can seriously effect investments and markets.

The above chart indicates great tension in the sky. Most significantly there's a Grand Cardinal Cross on the angles of the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses. The four angles are called "The Cross of Matter" because these two oppositions connect very important points in a chart: the Ascendant (AC), Descendant (DC), Midheaven (MC) and Imum Coeli (IC).

Life events tend to sharply manifest at these points.

For non-astrologers, you can see the angles are placed similarly and respectively at hours 9 (AC), 3 (DC), 12 (MC) and 6 (IC) on a round clock or watch. Especially when triggered by transiting planets, angles in cardinal signs readily suggest a turning point or time of initiating something substantial.

Exceptional astrological relevance of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel is shown by transits in the dark gray circle to Israel's natal chart. The time used is 6:37 am in Jerusalem, which is when The Weather Channel states sunrise (daybreak) occurred and where the country's air raid sirens originated.

Professional astrologers typically agree it takes at least 3 unique pairings to forecast an event will occur. When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 there were indeed more:
- Transiting South Node (the past) and Mars (God of war, aggression) conjoined Israel's Ascendant or AC (self, physical body)
- Transiting North Node (future direction) and Eris (Goddess of war, violence, discord) conjoined Israel's Descendant or DC (partnerships, relationships)
- Transiting Pluto (power, transformation) conjoined Israel's IC (home, land) and opposed Israel's MC (status, achievement) + all the above transits create a Grand Cardinal Cross
- Transiting Uranus (surprise events, disruptions) conjoined Israel's Sun (life force, soul) and opposed Israel's Chiron (wounds that need healing)
- Transiting Jupiter (expansion, exaggeration) conjoined Israel's North Node (future) and opposed Israel's South Node (past)
- Transiting Venus (relationships, money) conjoined Israel's Mars (war, aggression)

Can astrology predict events? Perhaps, when we're looking for them. We should have looked more closely in this case. Ultimately, people are the variable. Our free will of human energy forces for positive/good or negative/evil always determine results.

As I wrote in my July to December 2023 Forecast Report:
"...One other insight about the North Node is how it will link to Eris, the dwarf planet of discord and strife. In Greek mythology, goddess Eris is the sister of planet Mars, always stirring up action and rebellion, including violence. Eris naturally moves very slowly as a far outer spheric body. Overlapping, the Node North will be slowing down and stationing at the very same degrees as Eris between 25-24° Aries beginning August 30 through November 30, 2023. This pairing is not optimistic for the collective. Unfortunately, with this transit, I expect a stressful and upsetting time not only for markets but in all areas of life, culture and world events. Eris in Aries, ruled by Mars, sitting at the same point as the collective soul of humanity, equals a ton of passionate aggression and anger."

I'll post my November forecast soon. For now I'll add it seems caution and prayers are needed during November. Currently there's a Moon (Lunar) Wobble at 24° Aries from September 27 to November 30. Moon Wobbles are always a stressful and contentious time and we usually see dramatic events unfold during these periods, especially when the Sun is within 30° of either the North or South Node.
